Maquoise

Magenta and Tourquoise - wonderful colours. I just developed the doodle.

Murphy

Aniy and I walk in Stand Park almost every day with Moonshine and Murphy. I've been meaning to take my camera for ages and I finally remembered it the other day. I liked this shot so much I had a go at drawing it. Must say I'm rather pleased - Aniy loves it! I've printed it out on photo paper as she wants to frame it. First time anyone wanted to put one of my drawings up on the wall! Does this mean I'm a 'published' artist? (lol)

The Kiss - Homage to Klimt

The Kiss by Gustav Klimt is my favourite painting - this is a rather pale imitation but I loved drawing it.

I drew this butterfly on thefrogness's beautiful background.

Noodling

Bought 'Keys to Drawing with Creative Imagination' by Bert Dodson. This is my first experiment with his 'Doodling and Noodling' technique. I want to do more of his exercises.

Misty mountains

Stormfront sunset

I've strained my wrist drawing too much. This was my first attenpt with the wrist brace on - which is why it's a bit shakier than normal. I ought to stop but I think I'm addicted.

Curly waters

Rainbow tubes

As you can see I've been playing with rainbows again today. I love the way a little shading really makes them stand out.

Rainbows

The Last Rose

Took a photo of this yeaterday and have been really struggling to capture the delicate luminosity. I like the background but the rose itself is overworked and 'heavy' I think I may have to go and pick it and try drawing it from the real thing.

Aniy

This took five and a half hours! Still, I think it was worth it even though I gave up on the hair - the program was really slowing down, think I overloaded it.

Cliff

This is based on an advert I saw for Robin Hood's Bay.

Now will you draw me?

Gracie seems to have put some weight on about the face now that I compare this to the last drawing I did of her. Odd since both photos were taken on the same day.

Water's early journey

NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope observed a fledgling solar system, and discovered deep within it enough water vapor to fill the oceans on Earth five times. This water vapor starts out in the form of ice that surrounds the embryonic star. The ice then smacks down onto a dusty pre-planetary disk circling the stellar embryo (doughnut-shaped cloud) and vaporizes. Eventually, this water might make its way into developing planets.

This is today's drawing. I must try to speed up a bit - this took about three hours to get right. Practice as they say . . . well I don't need perfect but more accuracy in the first place would cut down on the revisions.

My brother

I've been working on a portrait of Eddie today - it's still a work in progress but I'm quite happy with the way it's coming. Two and a half hours so far!
Just had dinner - slow cooked beef in a rich sauce made with creme fraise - yum! Absolutely stuffed now . . . I think it may be time for a nap.

2nd attempt

success! this is one of the drawings I did today. It's called Saguaro Moon.

Sketchfu
